A Special Bowling Friend Needs Your Help

Recently, Bill Wammes suffered a major loss when his fine bowling center - Al-Mar Lanes in Bowling Green, Ohio - was destroyed in a fire. Thankfully, no one was injured. However, Bill lost over 40 years of memorabilia, primarily bowling, but also many items from other sports. He had hundreds of autographed photos of PBA and LPBT bowlers on display in the lounge and many bowling publications dating back to the early 60's as well as several older than that. He also had some collector cards from the early 1900's. He had many videos from manufacturers, ABC, PBA, and LBPT yearbooks, rule books, etc. Any help in rebuilding any of this would be greatly appreciated by Bill. He is truly one of the nice guys in the sport. If you can help in any way, please contact him. His information is listed below:

900!!!

Robby Portalatin of Jackson, Mich., became only the fourth person and second left-hander in history to roll an American Bowling Congress approved 900 three-game series Dec. 28.

The 28-year-old achieved the feat in the 700 League at Airport Lanes. A Jackson native who averages 230 in six leagues, Portalatin rolled an 805 series the night before.

"I was nervous, but everybody just kept talking to me and I kept taking it slow and easy," the 5'5" Portalatin told Matt Fiorito of the Detroit Free Press. "When I got to the 10th frame, all of the other 59 lanes stopped.
